We count ourselves part of God’s positioning system and figure our vision and mission are best proclaimed informally and invitingly as “Small Church! Big Heart!”

Goals and accomplishments in the past year have included settling more than $13,000 in past-due per capita payments to Pittsburgh Presbytery; constructing a pitched roof over the church-school wing; and installing new stair treads from the first floor to the sanctuary level.

We intend, God willing, to “stay the course” as a vital small church serving longtime and new members.

Active membership stands at 107, which is up eight members in five years. However, average worship attendance has risen from 46 to 54 during that same period, while the session has authorized the baptism of seven adults and 12 children. Nine persons have been restored to active membership, while 33 persons have become new members.

Annual general fund giving has grown by almost $10,000 over the past five years as giving units have gone from 50 to 58, and extra-mile mission giving, memorial gifts, and capital fund contributions have increased.

We have spent more than $100,000 on capital improvements without incurring new debt. We restored the parking lot and outside signs; installed pew cushions and refinished sanctuary pews, pulpit and chancel; patched and repainted exterior walls; replaced plastic sheeting over our golden sanctuary windows (a project that included re-caulking the stained glass and restoring much of the wood trim); and installed railings from the sanctuary floor to the chancel and choir loft.

Upon finding it neither architecturally nor financially feasible to install either an elevator or a stair-climbing device, we opted to buy a used golf cart to enhance accessibility from the parking lot to the sanctuary.

Please join us in answering God’s call to pray, sing, study, worship and serve him both inside and beyond our church walls.
